Special Handling
If testing cannot be transported to the laboratory the same day as collected, centrifuge the whole blood tube and transfer the serum to a clean transport tube. Cap and label the aliquot. Transport the serum Frozen.
Rejection Criteria
Body fluids. Heat-inactivated, hemolyzed, lipemic, or contaminated specimens. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Stability
Preferred/Transport Frozen >7 days; Refrigerated 7 days; Ambient Unacceptable
