Special Handling

Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer1 mL plasma to an standard transport tube and freeze immediately.Morning collection (7 a.m. to 10 a.m.) is preferred. Collection tube must be siliconized glass or plastic. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Rejection Criteria

Serum, heparinized plasma, tissue or urine. Grossly hemolyzed specimens.
