Collect
3 - Gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). Also Acceptable: Plain red, green (sodium heparin), lavender (EDTA)
Submit
4 mLs (Min: 3 mLs) Plasma or Serum
Special Handling
Remove plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 4 mL plasma to a standard transport tube. (Min: 3 mL) Also acceptable: Serum.
Rejection Criteria
Specimens exposed to repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Separator tubes. Plasma or whole blood collected in lt. blue (sodium citrate). Hemolyzed specimens.

Ambient 1 week; Refrigerated 2 weeks; Frozen 3 years
