Collect

Respiratory specimen: Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), bronchial brushings, nasopharyngeal swab, sputum, tracheal aspirates or pleural fluid. OR CSF.

Submit

CSF: Transfer 1 mL CSF to a sterile container. Fluid: Transfer 2 mL respiratory specimen to a sterile container, or transfer to viral transport media. Swabs: Place in viral transport media. Place each specimen in an individually sealed bag.
