Additional Information

Only send to PSPC Monday through Thursday and must be received at PSPC (North Platte) the same day as collected. Over 90% of patients with celiac disease express HLA DQ2 and the remainder express DQ8. The HLA DQ2 and DQ8 alleles are associated with increased genetic susceptibility for celiac disease. The frequency of celiac risk genotypes in the general population is about 30%, whereas only 1 to 3% actually develops disease. Associations of DQ2 and/or DQ8 with irritable bowel syndrome have also been reported.
