• Collect the entire ejaculate (by masturbation only) in a sterile specimen container that is provided. Do not use lubricants.

Specimen not properly labeled, specimen collected using a condom or lubricants. Specimen received after 30 minutes of collection.

This test is only offered at the Omaha-Pathology Services location, all other locations: order YSEMBR.
• Patient preparation: Abstain from sexual activity for 2–7 days prior to collection. Three (3) days of abstinence is recommended for fertility testing. Collect the entire ejaculate directly into the sterile specimen container.
• A sterile specimen container should be obtained from the physician’s office or laboratory before collection.
• Specimen container must be labeled with:
• Patient’s full name
• Date of birth
• Date and time of collection
• Maintaining body temperature during transport is essential, as temperature fluctuations can affect sperm motility and test accuracy.
• Accurate documentation of the collection time is required for proper interpretation of results.
