Pathology Services was organized in 1967 by George Haslam, M.D., a former University of Nebraska pathology professor, who saw a need for pathology expertise in western Nebraska and parts of Colorado and Kansas. The current full time pathologists have been in practice together for more than 30 years. Two part time pathologists also help serve the needs of the area. Our practice is based in North Platte. We also provide consultative services to 18 small rural hospitals as well as many clinics. We receive clinical, surgical and cytology specimens from these hospitals and regional clinics.

Orthopoxvirus (includes monkeypox virus) Tests Available

We are pleased to announce that effective August 5, 2022 we will be offering the Orthopoxvirus by PCR test. The new test is OPOX and will be sent to ARUP via Regional Pathology Services.
