Dear Pathology Services Clients,
We are pleased to announce that effective Aug. 5, 2022 we will be offering the Orthopoxvirus by PCR, which includes monkeypox virus.
The new test is YOPOX and will be sent to Regional Pathology Services and forwarded onto ARUP for testing.
Specimen Requirements:
- Lesion swab in Viral Transport Media; Stable refrigerated or frozen for 7 days.
